LANDMARK JUDGEMENT – Sec. 13(2)(a) of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 – Supreme Court has ruled that a party will not get more than 45 days for replying to a complaint in a consumer forum. In the wake of increasing numbers of medical negligence complaints against private hospitals, the Supreme Court has decided to lay down guidelines to be followed during operations and post-operative care.
